A Multi-Studio Collaboration
Designing cool cameras require many different skills and expertise. This project was made possible by the collaboration between 4 different studios: an imaging technology company, industrial design studio, user experience design (our team), and Nikon Japan.
Needless to say, this was quite the challenge.

Goal
Design a new camera experience that combined the technology of a high-end DSLR with the simplicity of a point-and-shoot. The visual language needed to balance between a sophisticated tool and an easy to use product.

Solution
By allowing user research to guide our design process, we created a unique, sophisticated visual language that not only supported the form, but was also intuitive and easy-to-use.
💭️
Like many projects as a consultant, this project never saw the light of day, though it was an incredible learning experience. Not only was it my first time leading the development of a visual language, but it was my first time introducing motion design into a project.
I also made a few friendships out of it.
